NorthGeography:some rocky some rich soil and four distinct seasons along with a more urbanized areas along with someurbancenters
Economy:the north was mostly industrial because of the boom in technology partly because of the factory system with a good amount of agricultural but not on such a large scale and usually grew foods like wheat and barley Transportation:the north was very developed in transportation they had paved roads, canals ,and a large tract of railroad. Society:was diverse in ethnicity because of the slavery was abolished in the north .though the freeblacks didnt hjave citizinship and same oppourtunity as the whites but still could do feelabor .due to the free states the norths population grew rapidly. |
SouthGeography:had mild winters and hot summers with mostly fertile soil and was pretty rural
Economy:mostly agricultural but usually grew cash crops instead of food because it was worth more.these crops include cotton,tobacco,rice,and indigo with the economical use of slave labor Transportation:as not as advanced as the north but still used steamboats and rivers as te maine mode of transportation Society revolveled around agriculture because it was a perfect place for it also the use of the plantation systemalon with the use of slaves and slave labor the south was a prosperous . |
All these differences in land economy and society causing different needs and wants all contributed to sectionalism between the north and south.
